Spiritual journey - Experiences and Stories

I have seen spiritual groups on Facebook and many questions are asked about the true meaning of spirituality and how to tread on this path. I have been listening to personal testimonies and immensely benefiting from them since 2016. My true spiritual journey, however, started in 2001 after the Twin Tower 911 attack. I started looking for books on Islam in Arizona State University's main library. My eyes rested on a book titled "Conversation with God." I decided to give it a chance and then a new path opened up.

I purchased used hard copies of that book series by Neale Donald Walsch on Amazon and devoured them. I got the answer to the reason the universe was created - to experience love. Some other important revelations were: God listens to prayers, for sure, but the response is not for prayers, instead the sponsoring thought leading to the prayers. God is speaking to us all the time, but are we listening?

I ended my stay in the US in 2007 but continued the journey. I re-encountered another book called Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda. Paramhansas are the most elevated soul. In that book I found stories of many spiritual seekers and highly accomplished masters, read the account of God experiences, and many anecdotes of what would be considered miracles by science, like being able to present in two places at the same time, miraculous healing, telepathic projection abilities of the masters, and the one that impressed me the most was the ability to leave the body on one's own will.  It is called the ability to attain the state of bliss in universal consciousness but then not returning to the body. There are anecdotes of some elevated Gurus in the book.

Since then, my search has taken me to few dozens of ancient spiritual texts, what could be truly called the instruction manual for life on this planet. I have read about many highly accomplished, self-realized souls. I am currently immersed in the teachings of an avatar and listen to his life's work while he was on Earth. I will share stories that I have read and believe could help other spiritual seekers. There will be references to a certain Guru, the ultimate Avatar, but I will not share the name, only his work and personal testimonies related to him. If you manage to reach a certain spiritual level, the name will also be revealed to you by his grace.

Here is one:

An Indian lady had gone to see a Broadway show. While her husband went to their seats, she decided to visit the restroom first. There she saw a Hispanic lady doing her work. As she entered the woman looked up at her and saw her wearing a sari. She could be identified as an Indian.

The Hispanic woman, an immigrant, looked at her and spoke to her. "Are you from India?"

She affirmed. Then the second question was: " Do you have booti?"

"Sorry, what booti?'

"You know, white powder. Booti"

"Oh, you mean Vibhuti? I don't know. I will check."

She opened her handbag and there at the top was a packet of Vibhuti sitting. She had not put it there.

"How do you know about Vibhuti?" she asked the Hispanic custodian.

According to her story, her 9-year-old daughter had both of her kidneys failed. She needed a transplant but she did not have insurance so could not afford it. So, being a good Catholic she prayed to Jesus for help. There was no response from Jesus. Four nights ago, someone else appeared in her dream and told her hat an Indian lady would come and she should ask for "booti". This had happened for four nights in a row, and now on the fourth day, she finally had seen an India lady.

"So, do you have booti?" she asked.

The Indian lady suddenly remembered that she had been to India in June that year and she had met with the Avatar, also known by the popular term "Swami" and he had given her some vibhuti. He had neatly folded it in a paper packet and asked her to take it to America. When she returned to American after four weeks of vacation, she told her husband about the vibhuti which she thought was meant for her husband, but could not find it anywhere. That made her husband quite upset that he did not have the blessed white powder from Swami.

She remembered that incident and opened her bag and right at the top of her wallet, found the same vibhuti that Swami had packaged for her to take to America. She inspected the packet and fore sure, it was the same. It was not meant for her husband, but for the Hispanic lady.

Two years later, she returned to India and went to visit her Swami. When she again got an interview, Swami told her, "No kidney transplant, the girl is all fine now."

So, no matter who you pray to, it has to be from the sincerity of your heart and it will reach the divinity. An appropriate response that is deserved will be awarded. Then at the same interview session, swami turned to a lady and asked her name. She replied, "Joy."

"Oh, Joy, what does that mean?" The lady gave answers like happiness, bliss, ananda, all received a no for a response. "Then, what is it swami?" asked the lady.

Swami responded. JOY means Jesus first; Others next, and Yourself last. When you do that you will really become JOY.
